Growing Conditions

Private Property is a Caraccioli Family Project that showcases the viticultural traditions of the Monterey County farming community. Focused on delivery approachable, yet complex wines that overdeliver.

This rosé comes from the family’s 124-acre estate Escolle Vineyard. A “painstakingly maintained and farmed” site that produces “extremely high-quality fruit,” as Vinous has written. Frigid blasts off the Pacific Ocean help cultivate the kind of acidity that’s proved perfect for the Caraccioli family’s eponymous sparkling wine label—and now, for Scott’s side project.

Winemaking

Private Property Rosé is made exclusively from Pinot Noir. The majority of the blend is direct to press juice, which showcases the vibrance and brightness of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Soft, fruity and delicious this rosé overdelivers with a textural balance that pleases on all aspects.

Nose

It shows off hibiscus flower aromas with complex tones of fresh cut rhubarb and sage, putting the pristine cool-climate origins on proud display.

Palate

A zippy palate full of crushed limestone. It conjures floral, herbal aromas and a bright acidity, carrying the elegant fruit flavors and mineral complexity that we love in Pinot rosés—bright red berries and white nectarine on a mouthwatering finish.

Appearance

An attractive salmon-hue.
